Welcome to Svenljunga!

Naturbruksgymnasiet Svenljunga offers two directions within the Natural Resource Use Programme: forestry and equine management.

Foresty

Naturbruksgymnasiet Svenljunga owns 800 (approx. 1970 acres) of land, 650 of which (approx. 1600 acres) are productive woodland. We also provide the students with a modern assembly of machinery and well equipped workshops.

The forestry direction reflects a wealth of opportunities, including forestry machine operation and traditional forestry craft skills. Third year students are also offered a course in hunting and game conservation.

Equine management

Naturbruksgymnasiet Svenljunga cooperates with the local Riding Centre (AP Häst) and ET Riding Centre (specialized on cross country). All horses are well trained and the stable facilities keep high standard, with indoor as well as outdoor paddocks.

As far as driving education, we cooperate closely with two of Sweden’s most experienced and known driving instructors (Lars-Åke Johansson and Bruno Elmelid). The main goal for the equine direction, is for the students to reach the National Certificate (Level 1) of Horse Management.

In addition to compulsory courses and core subjects such as English, Swedish and Civics you can choose from 10-15 further courses according to your own interests.

The three years at the Natural Resource Use Programme, gives you not only a wide training within natural resource, but also a general education, which, in most cases, meets with the qualification requirements for university studies.

Our education facilities are modern and the residential hostel accommodation offers single and double rooms, shared living rooms (equipped with TV and a pentry) and a modern gym with showers and sauna.

In the evenings, our spare time teachers will help you organize different activities, such as riding, fishing, taking a hunting exam, swimming and other sports activities (at the local recreation hall).
